This is an exciting opportunity to join this Australian family-owned company established in 1970, it’s an award-winning specialist designer and manufacturer of equipment for the Renewables, Defence, and Produce processing industries. We are looking for a highly motivated, Financial Controller to forecast, budget, plan, analyse and report on expenditure for their multi-faceted operation.  You will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial health by taking ownership of the financial reporting process. The role assists with budget preparation, ensures reporting compliance, and manages the transaction reporting process. 

About the role:


Reporting to the CEO you will assume both an operational role in the overall direction of the company as well as drive the day-to-day financial management functions across all departments, providing direction and leadership. You will be comfortable working with their sales, operations, BD and engaging with their supply chain.
Managing a small team and working closely with the CEO, this is a hands-on role with a wide range of responsibilities and variety. 

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Cash flow management and forecasting, including preparing and updating daily cashflow forecast
  • Supervision of EOM close and reporting timetable
  • Accounts receivable management and escalation, including credit application reviews, bad debt follow-up queries and disputes and escalate to CEO as per company policy
  • Accounts payable management, including review and authorisation of supplier payments in terms of company policies
  • Review General Ledger month-end reconciliations and corrections as required
  • Preparation of supporting tax schedules and other supporting documents for tax professionals
  • Review of management accounts and prepare variance analysis
  • Risk Management and appropriate compliance requirements in consultation with the CEO
  • Oversee statutory remittance of BAS/GST, Payroll Tax and Superannuation
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting qualification CA / CPA
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or Business
  • At least three to five years of experience in an equivalent Financial Management role
  • Exposure to the manufacturing industry / mechanical workshops would be advantageous
